Release: Impact Entry, Help and Other Updates

Hello Zazengoers!

Wanted to quickly introduce myself - I’m Cameron Booth, the Development Lead for Zazengo, managing our small band of merry Ruby on Rails programmers as we build out the Zazengo site.

Today I’m happy to give you some insight the new features we released recently. It’s exciting to see our system improve on a daily basis.

Help and feedback

We’ve improved our help system. In addition to our Frequently Asked Questions, we’ve incorporated a tool called GetSatisfaction that lets you interact with us and other Zazengo users. We want your feedback to help us make Zazengo better.

Impact Entry

For the first time now you can add your own personal impact to the system. Along with this, we’ve made some design improvements to the impact profile pages. (include URL) For an example, check out what our community manager Steph has been up to lately.

Invite your Friends

Look in one of your projects, under “invite friends”, you’ll find the new invitation tool. Just type in their email address or look them up by name.

Now, you don’t have to join the project to attend an event

You can also invite your friends to the event.

Improvements for Organizations - Organization Admins

We’ve made a lot of smaller improvements for our organization admins including:

• You can now get your own widget to put on your org’s site. Click the “Get your Widget” in your “Manage Org” control panel

• You can opt to receive copies of the “contact us” and “feedback emails” that people submit when they’re using your site.

• You can also personalize the welcome emails to your new users.

• We’ve added an RSS feed so that you will know when new members register in your organization. The link is near the bottom of your main profile page. We will be adding to the RSS feed soon.

Lots more added, and more to come

That’s only a very short list of all the work we’ve been doing lately. We’ve been fixing lots of bugs, making things look better, and more importantly act smoother. Keep coming back here, I’ll make sure to announce new features as we launch them.
